TRP is a company steeped in history

The founder of TRP - Thomas Richard Pearson - originally started retailing in Lincolnshire in 1948 in a partnership with Ron Cridland and was also involved with local farm machinery repairs.

Eventually the partnership was dissolved and Richard Pearson Limited was formed. The company was appointed as a main dealer for International Harvester and the business began to flourish as second hand tractors were rebuilt, dyna tested and exported to the 'close' continent, particularly Holland and Denmark.

During this time sugar beet harvesting was under development and Richard Pearson assisited Peter Standen with the early design of single row harvesters.

A good level of sales was achieved and this led to the company seeking other opportunities.

Using his contacts abroad, Richard Pearson discovered a German manufacturer of potato harvesters called Grimme and in 1963 saw the beginning of a successful relationship which lasted for more than thirty years.

During that time the business expanded rapidly and Pearsons grew a loyal dealer network of more than one hundred outlets. The original retail activities were being overshadowed, so it was decided to form a new company which was called TRP.

In 1992, Pearson began manufacturing their own range of potato machinery and began to get very good success. Of particular note was the Megastar soil separator and the Enterprise harvester.

TRP built up a solid reputation as being a 'specialist dealer' for the Pearson range of equipment, a title that they still proudly boast today.

Our head office - TRP (Scotland) Ltd - was formed in Perth, Scotland in 1975 and a new purpose built depot was opened in Sleaford, Lincolnshire in 2005, to cater for an ever increasing loyal customer base and expansion of products and services.
